Pole Replacement

[link to this post]

Openreach have been round my way recently carrying out their scheduled pole tests. They have marked several, including mine with a red D. From what I’ve read this stands for defective and the pole will need to be replaced.

What sort of downtime should I expect whilst they replace it? Or do they manage to keep all the wires connected?

Thanks.

More than likely the replacement won’t happen for very long time.

If and when it is done, downtime should be pretty minimal, no more than an hour I’d guess.

A few poles round here have had red D tiles for years; I think it mainly acts as a warning to the lineman that they should get a cherry picker for access, and not lean a ladder against the pole.
