Moving BT Master Socket

I currently have Virgin Media in the living room. I want to have BT in the house extension (currently master socket is in the living room).

I have not bought BT (or Plusnet/Sky/etc) yet.

1) Is it easy to get the BT engineer to move the master socket these days (I understand its become easier over the years, but I can't find any recent posts).

2) Should I do this as part of joining BT/Sky/Plusnet, or can I get it done separately through OpenReach etc?

Needs to be arranged when ordering your phone line, and may come with a cost.
