what's this box on the BT pole ?

what's this ? fibre to the pole? looks like one in and one out though.
It's in a rural part of the North West (Northwich).
As far as I can tell from my general enquiries of the street, it is served FTTC but only achieves ITRO 7mbps over FTTC/VDSL

It's just a joint enclosure.
2 lengths of fibre joined together inside.
