I have been a customer of IDNet for 16 years so you would think that by now they would know what my invalid credentials are and ignore them 😇
I think you misunderstand. What IDNet are saying is that something has repeatedly tried to access your mail account using invalid credentials (eg; the wrong password). That's not something that should just be ignored any more than you would ignore repeated attempts by someone to force your front door. In this case the invalid logins are coming from your network so the server keeps temporarily blocking your IP address to reduce the frequency of what it sees as attacks in an attempt to limit the risk.

The most likely cause of this is that you have changed your account password recently but only did so on one device - or only did so using the web portal and didn't update Outlook. My Dad used to do that a lot. He had a PC and a laptop and for a while he had Windows Mail set up as well as Thunderbird. That meant if he changed his account password he had to update two email clients on two computers or risk being locked out.

Changing a password is like changing the lock on a door. Everyone who had a (valid!) copy of the previous key needs to be given a new one. It's not an automatic process.

@Andrew_W,

Here's my 2 cents worth. I would recomend getting yourself a domain and then you can have as many email addresses as you want. I would recommend either 123-Reg or Ionos as they both provide excellent email servers that I have NEVER had an issue with in over 30 years! If you would like a hand getting your own domain then please drop me a message and we can disucuss this further.

I can recommend

https://www.havehosts.co.uk

For your email host .
Support will talk you though setting you emails up and mail browser configuration.

I stopped using ISP mail as it's such a pain to move isp's and mail each time.

Use Thunderbird Mail browser.

And for those whom don't want to learn about domains, hosting and email systems, there is the choice of the web mail services, that you can also use with Thunderbird, Outlook etc.

* Google = > www.gmail.com
* Microsoft = > www.outlook.com

I prefer Microsoft's look and way of working to Google or Yahoo.

Andrew,

May be barking up the wrong tree here.

Could be a corrupt Profile in Outlook 2003 be causing this issue?

Try creating a new Profile and set up one of your email accounts, restart Outlook and select your new Profile and see if that works OK.

Thanks for the offer!

So far I have deleted the email accounts I do not use and changed the passwords of the ones I do use. Now, wait and see......

I wouldn't trust Yahoo with my worst enemy's e-mail at this point.
