I have been fortunate enough to not have issues with the Virgin Media connection for the last 2+ years, and would for the most part get the full Gig1 speeds, with the downside of the upload being around the 50mb mark.
Peak times (evenings) speed would drop considerably, but still more than sufficient.
Dealing with the customer support (to do with billing) is another thing, which I would advise against dealing with, to maintain sanity!
Had Vodafone 900/900 installed recently, using the CityFibre network. The added bonus of being able to use my own personal router, directly into the ONT, allowing me to use my existing wired mesh network.
Upload speeds are significantly quicker, as expected, and has helped the many cloud devices constantly uploading at home, i.e. external direct to cloud cameras etc. It's also helped on the work from home front, due the line of work we're in, requiring large uploads.
What's surprised me the most, though, is the BQM - I've done a screenshot of them and added below - Vodafone (through CityFibre) seems a lot more stable looking than Virgin Media Gig1 line.
Interestingly, a family member who also recently took out a line through Vodafone/CityFibre. but on a 100/100 line, their BQM doesn't look no where near as 'stable' - despite it using the same pole/core wires due to the close proximity of the house.
However, I am no BQM expert!
I should add, these lines are both used very heavily, including constant 4k streaming's, 24/7 uploads- they were both tested equally. The Vodafone CityFibre connection, as it has been new, I've been doing constant speedtests, so I would have expected it to spike frequently.
PS: ignore the red drop on each BQM - that was me testing router configurations, that required restarts or disconnection.
