Contact the CEO of Openreach

[link to this post]

When you have a very serious problem with Openreach, an email to the CEO unlocks the issue for a satisfactory conclusion. Not that the CEO actual does anything, it is the "complaints" team under him. The trouble is I do not know the current address to use to fire off my email. Can anyone help me with these please?

Not just for Clive Selley at Openreach but for CEO's and other senior people at other organisations, https://www.ceoemail.com/ is an invaluable resource.

Here's the email address of Clive Selley. [removed by tbb]
The problem is that you won't get a response from him necessarily unless I guess you were an important person yourself. I emailed to inquire recently on regards to the wayleave issue and why certain postcodes had plans for FTTP and others did not despite same management.

Anyway, I then got an email response from Ethan Evans who responded on behalf of Clive Selley who also called me on the phone for further discussion.

Most probably if you were to do that then Ethan Evans will respond on his behalf with his email [removed] or maybe some other colleague from his team.

[removed by tbb] and you will be surprised to learn he does answer some emails, normally to get other senior people involved in those selected issues.

It is highly unsporting to publish staff emails. Unlike the CEO the guy concerned is unlikely to be able to act on unsolicited mail. You should edit out.

How do you think I managed to acquire his email address? Do you think he secretly gave it to me? Of-course not! It's all over the web, if you make a google search.

Here's a website that shows his email address. https://phonebt.com/openreach-complaints/
I can of-course edit it out, but it won't really make much of a difference.

The OP asked for help how to get his email. I'm sure if he googled more thoroughly he would've found his email through one of those web links. I decided to just post it at his request to make his life easier.

This is now under discussion in the 'grass to the staff' forum. My hunch is once a mod wakes up they will delete the offending case worker address as although I am sure it is not malicious, it is against the forum rules.

Posting personal details

You may not post home addresses, personal phone numbers, mobile phone numbers or other personal information about a company's officers or employees even if this information is in the public domain elsewhere (e.g. the whois database). We do not want to be in a position of hosting this content.

(Actually that looks to be a 10-year-old web page on a non-BT Group site).

The complaint is about the other address you posted, which doesn't appear on that page as far as I can see. Not the CEO one.

The fact a person may have given you their direct email address does not mean it's for publication to others smile.

There's a controversy raging in Talk To The Staff now LOL!!

Drafting/posting my post before yours appeared. Sorry about that. I'll leave it up for the extra info in it.

Wouldn't that rule apply to both email addresses?

Yeah it's true the second email address by Ethan Evans is not published. He's the one who responded to my email address when I emailed Clive Selley.

Frankly, people will naturally find out his email address when he responds on Clive Selley's behalf anyway.

Yeah I see FibreBubble opened the thread in Talk To The Staff, he is just being deliberately malicious! wink Ultimately it is up to the moderators to decide, he is not a moderator of these forums.

Actually it is more so inappropriate to deliberately name and shame on the forum, which is what he is doing. If he feels what I did was inappropriate, he could simply privately inbox a Mod or use report button, but to open a thread just to point my post and the post of dect is ridiculous and immature.

Indeed I remember some time back (not sure if he was the CEO at the time), I got a personal reply, he CC'd in another senior bod, and then that other bod took over but in all the emails back and forwards the CEO was still cc'd in, so it was me and two executives.

I did appreciate it as it wasnt a complaint, but rather a question about Openreach infrastructure, and they opened up providing me information.

I don't think he is being at all malicious.

Moderation of these forums is very much by the staff being informed of problems, and that's all he did. He just didn't do it the best way. In order of (staff) preference:

- the Report button if it fits into one of the four categories;
- email team@...;
-'post in TTTS as he did.

Not all on the forum have a report button that can be made use of, just mentioning it, as I am one who does not.

OP here.

I had done my research and did already have to hand the CEOs email address but I thought he had moved on and there was a different email address to use which (obviously) I couldn't find. The font of all knowledge is here, so I was just checking.

A single email to the CEO unlocked the issue which was fully resolved a few days later in a way that was very impressive to me.

I was actually arranging the installation of FTTP for the chairman and CEO of two substantial organisations who said to me that he would not tolerate shortcomings in service performance within my businesses. He went on to say that In common with most CEO’s I’m appreciative of anyone advising me where any part of my my businesses are underperforming.

I hope you said 'ditto'. Lots of substantial organisations are poor at paying smaller organisations.
