Premitel?

Anybody know anything about Premitel?

They don't seem to feature much on these pages. There's a user on here with handle "premitel" who gives an email address at premitel.uk. Name is Stephen Killen, which is the same as founder/owner of Premitel shown on the company website. Not very active (4 posts, last post Aug 22), no company rep accreditation, and on one occasion giving some fairly dubious advice on dismantling an NTE5c demarc box.

I ask because Premitel seems to have been successful in rescuing a BT landline number that had got lost in a porting exercise, and setting it up on VoIP with a diversion to a mobile. This was for an acquaintance who lives in the south of England, not Scotland. Nothing to do with me, I hasten to add - I only found out about it after the event.

Seems nobody else knows anything about them either.

Actually, the point may be moot. The original account I heard was somewhat confused with some details missing, and I misunderstood. I've now had some clarification, and it seems only that the phone number was at risk of being lost, if the person had done what they had originally intended, not actually lost. So what was done was a fairly standard port and cease - not very interesting.

I'm content to close this thread.
