Technicolor DGA4134 and Damson 19.4

[link to this post]

Recently moved to Manx Telecom. They provide a Technicolor DGA4134 router running Damson 19.4

Is the web UI to this firmware actually documented anywhere?

I have a few questions that I can’t figure out about what the UI is telling me

Cheers

I'm only aware of the usual quick guides that contain the basics of plugging them in, if you post what the questions are there may be people here who are familiar with that type of router who may be able to help, sorry I'm not.

Glad it's not just me!

Anyway, they have a really neat graphic showing the topography of mesh repeaters and wireless stations that provides a ton of information

See https://www.snapfish.com/share?via=link&lc=en_US&loc...

I can deduce just about everything (what WiFi is being used to conect, what's the signal strength each station is getting etc etc) BUT the numbers in the black blobs have me beat

I first thought they were also signal strength indicators, but they're not consistent with the signal strength bars

And they're not the number of devices connected to each "node" either

That's me out of guesses!!!

Anyone have any clues perhaps??

Thanks

Phil G

The blob numbers I have worked out to be the device's Wi-Fi version, hence either a 4, 5, or 6 as those are the versions supported by EasyMesh

I believe Rebecka is correct.
How does the speed compare between connecting to the root and the last node?

Thanks

Not quite there yet. I’m still deciding in the best place for the extenders (and whether I need more!)

Not a big property, but lots of walls in the way if Wi-Fi

If it helps I am in a small flat but the wall between the front room and bedroom completely kills wifi. I had tried used a powerline adapter to solve the problem but it kept randomly dropping out.

So I bought a TP-Link RE700X extender, as it is one of the few they offer that supports EasyMesh and I was able to get it for around £50. Despite being on the other side of the wall it works perfectly.

I have FTTC and and did a speed test. In the front room I get around 74 Mbps direct from the router, in the bedroom I got around 67 Mbps from the extender. Even when working the powerline adapter only gave me around 40 Mbps.

I had thought I might have needed to set it up in the hall, a bit around a corner but it would at least have passed though doors rather than walls. Somehow it works through the wall when regular wifi does not.

I also use Manx telecom and have a Technicolor DGA4135 running Damson 19.5. It would seem to suggest that it is using wifi 7?
