Virgin XGS-PON

[link to this post]

It would seem Virgin media are in full swing rolling out XGS-PON in Northampton. I noticed around the corner we have a huge cabinet being built next to the older cabinet. Virgin is already available in my area on the older HFC network. My question is do virgin media have to dig everything up in the area to lay the ducting or do they use the existing ducting used for the HFC network?. Our paths are starting to look like patchwork quilts with all the different fibre networks laying.

This is what Virgin have just done round the corner:

I imagine the green cabinet is the optical node. But what is the yellow coffin looking thing?, Underneath there are 2 pipes one either side.

If you look on roadworks you can see all the planned work by virgin media however i can't understand why they are building a cabinet but no other planned work in the area:

The arrow shows where the new cabinet is being built in the picture above

The yellow "coffin" thing is a cover over the base where a new cabinet will be installed.

There are no permits needed to open up their own chambers and pull cables through their ducts, so it won't be showing anywhere. Openreach did a full FTTP build here and there was no sign of it other than a few permits to excavate to unblock ducts.
