FTTC connection improvement is a sign that FTTP available.

In the last week or so I noticed that my FTTC line was far more stable than it has ever been. I'm ~750metres from the cabinet and used to lose connection 2 or 3 times every week although sometimes I was only aware of it after looking at my BQM which is part of my daily routine.

I checked the Openreach availability and FTTP had appeared since I last looked 3 or 4 weeks ago. A quick phone call and a bit of haggling and I've ordered an upgrade to 300Mbps although 500 & 900Mbps are also on offer.

I wonder whether FTTP becoming available always means an improvement in FTTC.

If enough people move from FTTC to FTTP then the cross talk effects on the bundle of wires in the street between the house and the cabinet will reduce. This could improve your FTTC speeds/sync.

So its not really FTTP being available but people closing FTTC accounts that has the impact. They could be moving to Virgin Cable, or to a 5G service.

I should have added that my brother-in-law who lives on the other side of our village had already remarked on the improvement in stability of his FTTC connection several weeks ago after FTTP had become available to him almost as if the work involved was accompanied by general maintenance of such as joints etc.

It was the conversation that I had with him at that time that prompted me to check availabilty for me. It made me wonder whether others had noticed the same thing.
