No Broadband Availability

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I've been investigating options for my Mothers house in semi-rural Mid-Wales (Postoce: LD1 6DY). She used to have standard ADSL through BT but the service was so intermittant and slow that she has recently given up and is using a phone hotspot.

I've noticed however that all the neighboring houses (both sides and across the road) are being offered fibre connections from the likes of TalkTalk, Vodafone etc while her house does not.

Even the BT Broadband Checker shows her house as "We cannot determine broadband availability at this location, This may be a new address...." which it is not, the house has been there for 40+ years and has had a connection in the past.

All the surrounding houses appear to be offering WBC FTTP with the install process being KCI2 Assure (although I'm not 100% sure, I believe this means it is ready and available?

Any ideas on where to go from here?

If it was me I would as for quotes from various ISPs for an FTTP service. Even a speed of 50 Mbps would be adequate.

If they can't supply there, try the other biggies for their prices for whatever GB she needs. Then perhaps the piggy-backers like Smarty and iD.

Fill in the Openreach enquiry form, selecting reason "I cannot get fibre but my neighbours can".

Are you sure you have an address match properly? There looks to be a lot of house names and house numbers used interchangeably.
