What is so difficult for Openreach engineers......

[link to this post]

There's a PCP cabinet at the end of my road, that I've had to report now three times in under two years, that its doors haven't been closed up properly. . It's this model of cabinet

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/2019-...

In all three instances, the lower catch hasn't been secured properly, and there's been a gap of about 50mm (tapering down to 0mm at the centre point) left for the elements (or worse) to get in.

To be fair Openreach's 'Damage Report Bot) is very good, and someone turns up within a couple of hours to correct.

But how on earth can they get left in that state in the first place ?

Picture the diverse set of ability and effort that you witness at wherever you work, Openreach will have the same spread, and their subcontractors will have the same except probably at a lower relative level.

Agreed … some cab doors can be a faff to close, but close ‘em they should.

The Openreach chat-bot-agent, did actually comment to me, that I'd reported this issue three times (over two years) It almost felt like they were getting fed up with me !

*If* they put your contact number on the fault raised, and the engineer sent to close the doors makes contact, ask if they have raised an ‘A1024’ to have the remedial work done to stop the issue becoming a repeat report.

On the last two occasions, the engineer sent to attend, did indeed ring me. Firstly when he was on his way, and then again once at the site. This time, no calls, but I will ask if (when!) it happens again
