WHY was my previous post DELEATED?

Due to incorrect spelling?

DID you mean DEFEATED?

DID you mean DEFEATED? Could have meant DEMEATED, nice urban word.

Deleted posts usually still show, with a body that says (Deleted). This sounds more like a post that was never completed in the first place.
We’ve all done it.
(Could have been deleted because of shouting, but I doubt it.)

I'm wondering why he asked here, when TTTS or team@ are the obvious choices. Preferably the latter.

I've done that many times over the years, but there have been a couple of times I'm sure I clicked on the [continue] second time to commit to posting but post never showed up.
A deleted post however seems to still show just the content replaced by 'deleted'.

A deleted post however seems to still show just the content replaced by 'deleted'. Doesn't the automatic spam coding remove the entire post and if its the only post in the thread remove the existence of the thread as well?

It could be, but then 'we' wouldn't see anything and wouldn't know unless we where the instigators, I'd guess that as a new thread was started then it was a thread that was removed.

No. I deleted a post I made to a thread last week and it shows as *Deleted*.

Can't people read anymore? its there in black and white in my post, I was clearly talking about the automatic spam code removing the post not the person who posted it.

IIRC if a mod deletes the Opening Post of a thread the whole thread is removed. "Not in database".
Similarly a spam post can simply vanish. Which is how some years-old threads suddenly surface but with no new post. (And we often fail to notice the date).

It had disappeared but today i could find it,
Very odd, that I couldn't see it later that day when I was going to update it,
it also didn't appear in the recent posts list, Anyhow just for completeness for anyone who is interested,
the fault was corrected with in a few Hrs, Or sent me a SMS saying they think the fault is now fixed the next day and asking me to confirm,
And my PTSN provider never got a proper answer from OR as to what caused the issue

If you have made a topic similarly to this post with regards to HIV and Covid then I am not surprised that it may have been deleted because that is what the link to your X tweet is discussing about in the video you linked.
This is not a place to discuss HIV and even Covid related subject matters. They belong to the off-topic sub forum or medical forums not in a broadband discussion sub forum. It may be an important topic but it has no relevance to this forum.
So, before you post or make a topic you have to ask yourself whatever you are about to post whether it is in line to the forum or sub forum.
Also, if you have made a similar topic/thread or post and it repeated itself that can also be removed or locked especially if you already have made the very same topic before. You don't open the same thread again. If you've lost track of your thread you should search through your own post history and find it and recontinue from there instead of opening another topic again and again.

Why have you included a link to a description of a proposed vaccine which never got past a few trials?

Because for SOME reason the correct link was not copied to my clipboard, And i didn't check it

Perhaps also in the same vein, as the mystery link which crept into your last post, you also forgot to click the "continue" button, and hence thought it was posted but was in fact not...rather then actually being deleted.
So a simple human error.

I have found the post, so it was posted, But I was unable to find it afterwards to update it, so thought it had been deleted for some reason, But today i found the post and linked to it, Unfortunately the 1st attempt had not copied the link to the clipboard, And a previous link was posted instead This happens randomly for reasons unknown, I suspect maybe security s/w

Just remembered I've had a similar experience, I did wonder at the time if it was being vetted.

Similarly a spam post can simply vanish. Which is how some years-old threads suddenly surface but with no new post. (And we often fail to notice the date).
So we can delete a post leaving it there or we can remove it (and potentially replies completely). If there's a spam chain we may remove it and replies, but if it's just a post which has content and useful replies we would delete the post leaving the thread intact. This was intended for transparency when we delete posts but we decided for spam it made no sense to leave things. In the end it depends on the circumstances.

We do have an anti-spam system which may remove posts after they are posted and appear; it will then disappear after a while. It's unlikely to be the case here as it mostly affects users with no reputation on the forums.
Sebastien.
