Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right forum listing. I have been
trying to get a new full fibre connection via CityFibre network, who
"completed work" in my road about six years ago.
This all began when I wanted to get connected via Cuckoo, CityFibre
themselves emailed four days after we established a contract (and Cuckoo
sent us their router) to say they're cancelling the connection. No
reason given, and I was told "speak to Cuckoo".
Cuckoo were unable to give any reason except for "we don't think there
is a connection point for your house" (paraphrased). Given that every
other house on my road has the ability to connect including my
neighbours to either side, I find this unlikely.
Following this I checked CityFibre's own website to see if there was
actually an issue. My postcode shows up with all the houses in the road,
but clicking on my house directly it claims "work is still ongoing in my
area".
There is no way of directly contacting CityFibre other than for health
and safety concerns. The AI chatbot they use to field customer inquiries
simply leads you in a loop because if there is a connection issue
CityFibre believes this to be a problem to be taken up with your ISP.
However, it's quite difficult to contact an ISP about a supposedly
unfinished network. Several ISPs I have contacted all claim that the
work in my area is unfinished or that I have an awkwardly located property.
Is there any way that I can prod CItyFibre into looking a bit deeper
into things or will I have to resort to 5G/ (at great expense) starlink.
I have also tried BT but it simply isn't an option for my area.
