Configuring router in readiness to AA FTTP

[link to this post]

Hi. In shifting from FTTC to FTTP very soon. I’m also abandoning BT and porting my phone number to AAISP, which is my ISP. Two questions for you geeks:

1. I’m currently using a suitable TP-Link router but want to setup my spare, which is in fact the superior model, in readiness for the FTTP installation. This is what I did when moving to FTTC year ago. All I did and have done whenever setting up a router with the same IP address is to switch of the wireless on my PC and connect the other router with Ethernet cable, then bring up the IP address and configure. Is it that simple for FTTP?

2. What are the configuration settings for AAISP FTTP?

Thanks

Apparently, there is no way of configuring the router before FTTP is installed. I've tried. Online advice says I have to wait. True? Or is there a way round this?

you just need to set the router to pppoe and add your aa username and pw

It was already set to PPPOE. I just needed to make a change from avdsl/vdsl to WLAN in the advanced settings. Obviously, I haven't testedc it yet because FTTP isn't yet installed Thanks for your help. Munch appreciated.
