Where can I get small (PC type) jumpers from?

When I installed a new SATA drive last week it had pins on the back to slow its interface to 1.5G. The jumper needed was very small and didn't come with the drive. I managed to use a 'standard' size jumper and it did the job.

Clearly though it must be possible to buy such jumpers. Maplin sell what look to be standard sized ones. Any suggestions where one can get smaller ones from?

Try a local computer shop. They will have hundreds.

$6 /100 plus $72 postage ...

Even the $6 is expensive - the last time I purchased some they were around £8/1000 or $1.20 per hundred.

A pair of taper-nose pliers and a dab of solder... how often do you ever need to change a jumper after you've got it working? crazy

I did, they didn't have any small enough to fit the particular jumper on the Seagate SATA drive.

The one I'm looking for is smaller than these. It really was tiny.

Edit: Same 2mm size as the toby.co.uk ones.

Edit again: My apologies, I've found here on the Seagate web site that it uses 2mm jumpers. I can only assume that the particular PC shop had the slightly larger 2.54mm ones.

I'm dangerous with a soldering iron, definitely not an option for me grin
