Motherboard

My present Motherboard - a Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6, Socket 775, ATX with 4 DDR3 slots - has given up the ghost for whatever reason. I thought initially it was a PSU problem but not so. The Intel processor is an E8200 Core 2Duo. For economic reasons I would like to just change the motherboard and not go to the expense of a new processor but the issue is what motherboard would fit the bill as clearly processors have moved on since I built the machine 3 years ago. I would wish to have at least 6 SATA connections and support 4 DDR3 memory slots. I also have a sizeable Zerotherm Nirvana NV-120 Cooler for the processor to contend with.

Anyone any thoughts please?

Apparently they don't seem to make them like they used to. Novatech seems to be the only one selling 775 boards with 4 ddr3 slots, and none of them have more than 4xsata.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the money.

I found one with the spec you're looking for, but it's so expensive you could buy a phenom 555 and a good core unlocking board for the same price.

Thanks for your research, much appreciated. Need to do some thinking now as to the best way forward cost and performance wise. That board is about £30 more expensive than when I bought my original gigabyte despite being 3 years on!

Appreciated. Just need to make sure my Zalman cooler will fit given that copper contraption to the left of the processor space.

Only supports 2x ddr3. It has 4x ddr2 only.
