hp Colour LaserJet 2500 series

Hi guys,

I have a hp Colour LaserJet 2500 series. I only bother to replace the black toner as that's all I use. The blue light has come on and the yellow light is now flashing (indicating ink low/or out). The laser now refuses to print any of my black and white documents.

Is there anyway to get around this? Possibly with a different driver and selecting 'Print grayscale only?

You could clean the printer's internal bits. I would use nail polish remover to get rid of any ink. I would also replace the blank/colour printer refills for new ones.

I don't know about the printer in question, but I previosuly had a Samsung printer that would refuse to print black and white if one of the colours ran out. Very frustrating - I'm sure it was a ploy to sell more refills!

You know when its time to take a holiday ...... Replace ink for Toner in my last email ... I had the same as you, if one of the colours runs out it all stops, hence the clean it all and replace it all in my email.

Trying to get away with not replacing the colour toners as I don't ever use colour.

If you never use colour your best bet would be to buy a cheap black and white laser rather than waste money on expensive colour toner cartridges that will eventually be used regardless of whether you ever print anything in colour.

Pop the colour toner cartridges out and give them a gentle shake to loosen up the powder. This should give you a little bit of time before they run out, letting you print in B&W.

have a chat with the local filler company and see if they can do a partial fill. As others have said, sometimes you may need some in the colour one befor it all works.

As previously suggested try a good old shake of the cartridge - but please do avoid breathing in toner.

Have shook toner around but it has not helped. Two colours are completely out.

I'm going to throw this thing out and pick-up a new B&W only laser.
