Graphics Driver / Laptop

I am trying to update my graphics drivers on the laptop, the one on it now is from 2009, the drivers i need are for the mobile intel 965 and i need them for windows vista, but for windows 7 if possible?.

Have you tried the Intel website?

If they are not there, then it's extremely likely they were never written specifically for Windows 7.

Why do you need to update your graphics driver? Surely it is working fine?

I think they are there, but the link goes to a dead link, a vista driver would be fine, if i could find a link for one of those drivers, and it does work fine, but i would rather have the most updated driver for it on the laptop.

Always get graphics drivers from the manufacturer where possible!

DriverPack Solution is a really useful tool that I use when reinstalling systems though whether or not you'll find an updated and improved driver for a laptop of that vintage is debateable.

I would suggest to try the Intel's Driver Update Utility to scan for new drivers. You would need to install this before using.

The Driver Update tool might also find updates for your motherboard, networking, ect. Works for me.

Find your laptop here and then look for VGA drivers. Select the operating system as required. They have vista ones.

The drivers on there seem older than the ones i have already, the ones i have now are from 2009, it seems like the ones on that site for the graphics are 2008?.

Oh I see, I mis-read and just thought you needed them generally.

I always advise manufacturer of laptop for drivers as they often make changes which can often mean generic drivers e.g the ones direct from intel may not function perfectly.

If there was an important update usually the manufacturer adds it to the list. So honestly I don't think you need to update the drrivers unless you're having issues.

Vers 7.14.10.1409 is available here. Check your current version via the Device Manager or Intel applet.
