Network Attached Storage

Hi,

We are in the process of buying a network attached storage for our backups at work and currently looking at this one QNap TS-459 Pro+.

An one has any comments about it good or bad? are there better ones?

Qnap are generally excellent. I've not heard anything bad about them.

Personally, I have a Thecus N4100Pro which is absolutely rock solid.

I use 2 QNAP 410s each with 4 2tb drives

They have provided perfect service for a couple of years now, I must admit I have not delved into the more advanced features like webservers etc but for what I do (Movie & TV Storage), played back across a wired network they have been perfect,

Don't think you will have any reliability issues if you go for QNAP

www.theregister.co.uk had a quick overview of ten NAS boxes a few days ago. You might want to have a read, especially if your interest is dual-drive boxes (which was what they looked at).
