The screen I have now is 19" the old style non widescreen. I see they are all wide screen now, and it seems hard to find one without.

So, I was thinking if it has to be a wide screen may be a 22" ?
If you are changing from square to widescreen, then I would go for a new monitor which has at least the same height as the old one. That way, you will just appreciate the extra width; without any loss of height. smile

I had to buy a new monitor a few weeks ago. I went for a 22" (nominal, 21.5 actual) as that gave me (at least) the same pixel height as I had before. In fact it's slightly more, but I wasn't willing to lose any pixel height, 1024 being my minimum requirement.
