ipad and security

I intend to take my ipad on my next holiday abroad. Does it need to go through security check? and if so will it be damaged?

All sorts of electronics can go through security scanners with no negative effects. Laptops, digital cameras, etc all seem to be fine. iPads should also be fine.

One of my laptops went through about 20 airport screens EVERY month as did my phone and Palm PDA. Never had any adverse effects.

Full time airport staff will put their phone through maybe 50 times every month ...
