How can I assess the current £ value of my PC equipment?

I have use of a Packard Bell I9820 desktop PC (doesn't directly belong to me) which cost circa £900 new in 2009. This has reached the end of its useful life to the owners, but is still good for my needs.
I need to know what the fair value of this equipment would be, so I could acquire this equipment via a fair purchase.

Spec is: Intel Core i7 920, 2.6 GHz Quad Core Processor, 4GB of Memory, 650GB HDD, Windows Vista Home Premium.

Is there some website or set way to work this out?

There has only been one sold on Ebay in 2011 which went for £300 so not enough to get a good average from.

For me a general rule of thumb of 20% per year down to zero value at five years of age. Not sure if that's corporate practice, but it's probably not too far off the reality.

Also balance against the cost to replace it for whoever has it. £200-£300 would probably be about right.

Just make them an offer, £50 or £100 say.

For tax purposes, hardware is a write off after 3 years due to depreciation (as done by my accountants).

Yes, it's been a good while since the accountants had to be convinced that computer equipment wasn't like other hardware.
Current market value of 2009 equipment is essentially zero, but you have to realise that you'd need to pay something to replace the stuff, so it should be a matter for offer/negotiation.
