thanks, install size is 26gb so wont turn bigger down for free but not paying for it. Not sure about recert, 3yr warranty v 1 year and postage v free delivery. 40gb does leave breathing space though. main question is these drives will not be worse than WD green in performance even though have old performance level?
They will be much faster than mechanical drives. Read or write speed is not the whole story - seek time, which is almost 0 on an SSD, is just as important. And there's no point paying for SATA 3 if you only have a SATA 2 interface.
In my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit desktop PC, I have just installed the Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD as the boot drive, now boot-time from pushing the on button to Windows 7 being ready for use is 33 seconds. I can recommend the Kingston HyperX drive; it comes with a drive bay blue metal conversion plate 3.5" to 2.5" with screws, no additional software required.
