Monitor - Any Hope.

Last night when we turned one of the computers on, the bottom half the screen was made up just white lines. The top half worked as normal.

A different monitor worked perfectly.

The monitor on a different computer was still just the top half of the screen.

Is it a case of throw it away?

Probably ... although you should really send it for recycling.

Just check the pins on the connector first. I assume they are ok. The next thing is give it a big whack (with the power off).... then recycle if it does not work. I assume its not still under warrenty.

You used to be able to get these things fixed, but is a lost art now.

Thanks both - as I suspected.

Used a different lead and gave it a big whack - Re-cycling it is. I think it is over well over five years old, I expect it will be the computer next.
