TV interference is causing my internet speed to half.

Hey guys, so I've got a problem with my internet where if my tv is on which is a meter away from my router, the download speed more than halves from 620KBs to 200KBs. Tested it with and without the tv on. Cant figure out what I can do? I have tried other places within my house with the same result.

Dump the television and buy a new one.

Ensure the telephone and DSL cabling goes no where near the television. Minimise internal wiring and install modem at the point of entry.

Could be the answer. The picture on my old CRT TV went wonky if I put the subwoofer too close to it.

Or it could be a ground / earth loop or PSU interference which could be fixed by plugging the router into a different socket not used by the TV.

Different issue! The sub-woofer has a damn great permanent magnet which causes the electron beam to be deflected.

There is European law that covers his, and you can drag the TV manufacturer into it and demand a fix from them. You might be able to reduce the interference by fitting ferrite chokes around the TV and router mains cable, the TV antenna cables, and the router network cable.
