Checked advanced options in router and the printer was assigned to a different IP address from last install. If the router has restarted since installing the printer then may be the address has altered.
I would have thought the printing software would have chosen the printer name from the router and no matter what the address would have sent the print info to the correct address : eg choose device from wireless list and send info.
Tried Batboy's idea and ticked the "always use same address" box and that seems to kick the printer in to life ("ready" instead of "offline") and has worked so far. Only time will tell.
