With respect to the OP, it doesnt work on two levels. The BIOS sees two hard drives with the IDE to SATA in place when the second drive should be cdrom, and it is physically too big with the adapter and Kingspec drive in place. Looks like i will have to stick to my Hitchachi spinny drive for the laptop.

Hooked the Kingspec up to my desktop and read/write benchmarks are half the speed of my Crucial SSD and SanDisj 32gb I got on ebay described as generic. So good and cheap I have ordered another SanDisk as a spare for my other desktop.

Well I got an SSD Kingspec working in the laptop but the adapter is too high to get the cover back on .

It didnt work at first but there is a jumper on the adapter which I removed then it started working.

Oh well might have to try an IDE to masata but not sure how long msata cards are and if I will have the same phsical fit problem.
