mSata dimensions

Anyone know or can link to msata dimensions? Trying to work out if an IDE to msata adapter plus msata card around 32gb will fit my laptop. So far I have tried two adapters IDE to Sata one is too long and one is too high when fitted to a 2.5 SSD I couldnt get the top of the laptop back on.

What are the dimensions of the original disk drive?

IDE 2.5 x 9mm if that helps.

So, the Lycom ST-173-7 adapter should fit just fine. This takes a full-size MO-300 mSATA card (not the new M.2 form factor).

So the msata card is shorter than the adapter? According to the ling it is 51mm whereas the adpater is 98mm (not sure that includes pins) long, I only have about 100mm in length to play with, otherwise looks ok.

I don't understand why your other adapters don't fit. What kind of adapters are they?

One has a board which makes the total length of the adapter and sata drive 118mm which is too long for the case. The other adapter is fine for length but is too high so I cant get the wrist rest/keyboard holder on. The second has a jumper which makes it work, put the jumper on and it sees two hard drives. Its a tight fit. Both are IDE to 2.5 Stata adapters.

That's odd. I would expect them to conform to the standard 2.5" IDE form factor.

Ah! Those are intended to be connected to SATA drives in IDE-based desktops, as you no doubt know by now. I hadn't realised that you were trying to install a 2.5" SATA drive into an IDE-based laptop. Not possible, I'm afraid.

But is it compatible with ata33 and looks like its from hong kong judging by delivery date, so returns may be difficult.
