You might like to think about a refurbished laptop, e.g. https://www.mycheaplaptop.co.uk/lenovo-t440s-ssd?sea...

There's a very thorough review of that machine here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url... If you can live with the poor screen and battery life it seems to be a fairly good buy.

According to this document and the resolution the laptop is advertised at, it should be an IPS panel, so the screen may not be too bad. I will also mainly be using it on the mains so battery life is not too much of a concern.

Well it has arrived and I am very pleased with it. The screen not as good as my Dell Monitor, colours slightly different. Came with 1809 Win 10 which took about 40 mins to upgrade to 1903 and do the driver updates from HP. Worst one was the BIOS update which seemed to take ages and lots of different blank screens before finally booting. The i5 processor is nice and fast compared to my Core 2 Duo on desktop and stays nice and cool. Overall I am pleased with it and would recommend to another.
