Printers don't like not being used.

i have a Canon Selphy cp1300, photo printer, not been used for over 12 months, so since I was moving the computer room around, I thought I would see if it still worked. Dusted it off, connected it to the Wi-fi and tried to print. Time and time and time again, the thing just jammed and takes so long to even start printing.
After blowing it out and trying different ways for it to print, via SD card and phone, eventually it started to print.

It seems to take ages to connect to my mac, I don't know if that is an Airprint problem, but then my Brother LED printer seems to work ok.
Also the Mac seems to set the paper size wrong, just need to muck around with it, no doubt will waste the ink/paper I have got, left.

It is an expensive way to print, which is maybe why I stopped using it. Working it out, is 25p a copy for a 4x6 photo, that is canon own packs. Just found the receipt for when I got the unit back in 2019 in my inbox, the unit cost £99 and the aper set cost £29.99 for 108, so did cost more and around 36p

I noticed we can now get third party sets, but it don't make sense. They are more expensive than canon, but still have 108 sheets of people, but three cartridges. So no advantage. or am I looking at it wrong.

Original

Looking at the original, it seems like that have three cartridges now instead of the one, I presume each cartridge lasts for a third of the amount of paper. Very strange.
