Intel "15th Gen" Core Ultra 200S series, aka Arrow Lake

[link to this post]

This new processor series is meant to be the most significant refresh of Intel desktop processors in around 3 years. Some bold claims from Intel like halving of the power consumption. I was hoping for good things...

Having read a couple of early reviews here and here. Also some YouTube reviews here and here, seems the early consensus is not great...

All the way from; "Blazing Speed, But Energy Efficiency Falls Short" to "...new chip is unstable" and "Its a mess...probably a flop".

Hopefully this is headline hype gets eyeballs, but still these sorts of quality and performance issues not too confidence inspiring for a brand new design, especially for Intel who seems to be fighting for its life (ultimately from takeover). Have they just rushed this out the door and they will fix microcode quality with future BIOS updates and OS patches? 🤷‍♀️

Ouch, if this flops, not good. I'm waiting for TechTechPotato to comment (formerly of AnandTech).

I’m yet to read or watch anything remotely positive about them. Linus Tech Tips decidedly lukewarm / a downer.

Not good. Lots of corporates don't want to risk bespoke/custom/enterprise apps to an ARM transcoder; hopefully AMD can save the day.
