Just had a look. Yup. £440 for the 4TB versions and £240 for the 2TB version...that'll reduce in time.

I would like a 16TB for my security cameras ... based on those prices an 8TB would be around £800 and if there was a 16TB maybe £1500! I'll stay with Seagate Skyhawks for a while longer.

The speed (and cost therefore) of these would honestly @MHC be a total waste for security cameras. I run all mine on a bank of spinning rust (12 TB IronWolf Pro's) in a NAS.

These Gen 5 drives are really meant for desktop machines where IO throughput makes a noticeable difference to app performance.

100% agree; as in servers you can use raid of NVMe drives to achieve high performance for multi-threaded I/O. In single user desktop (even laptop) the higher I/O speeds will help those with video editing or super large photo shop drawings; even those running VMs. (All reasons I went for Gen 4 when everyone else was buying gen 3)
