The problem is that Talk Talk are not really a competitor for Hyperoptic customers.

With fibre (FTTP) the performance can very much depend on the capacity of the back haul. You might have a Gigabit connection speed, but the useable download speed might be much less. - Unlike ADSL/VDSL where line length and cross talk issues can have a dominant impact.

Indeed. Offering gigabit FTTB is clearly in no way innovative in a country where most of the population are unable to get faster than 76Mb.
