Is Hyperoptic a good service provider

Has anyone any experience of this company with flats?
In my building of about 100 flats Hyperoptic has offered to provide FTTP and then Cat5e to each flat with up to 1G at £48 per month which seems reasonable.

Nearly all of Hyperoptic's customers live in flats. We have the same set up here and Ive been with them for years with very little trouble.

Hyperoptic is super fast with a relatively reasonable cost should you have it in the building, but some people do have problems with the latest router

I think it depends what options you have already. If you are stuck on EO lines and slow broadband now, it's a great option. If your building already has decent broadband then people may be reluctant to change and take up may be low.

I've been with them since 2014. Can't fault them. The only trouble we had was fixed within about 4 hours. The connections are symetrical and the speed you buy is the speed you get. Recently Openreach have installed fibre to the building but the packages on offer are less competetive than Hyperoptic.

I have been with them a year and a half now. For me it was a no-brainer as the only other option would be 2-3 mbps ADSL to the lengthy EO aluminium line...

I chose the middle service (150/150) and £35 for that is reasonable. I could not imagine why I would need anything faster than that as everything downloads (and uploads!) in seconds. Even if Openreach based FTTC/FTTP products became available, I would not switch back to an asymmetric connection anymore and OR based FTTP services tend to be more expensive as well.

The only potential drawback with Hyperoptic is Carrier-grade NAT. It has caused absolutely no problems for me as I am a typical end user and do not host anything at home or need port forwarding.

I'd be interested in your experience / problems regarding NAT. I use a VPN server at home to access specialist software remotely. I port forward from my router and use DYN DNS like service.

I haven't had any problems with it - but I understand there are some things that would not work with CGNAT. I use a VPN solution to connect to office network and it works fine but this does not require any port forwarding stuff - just running an application on my computer.

Hyperoptic does offer public IP address for £5/month. I do not need it but it is there as a workaround if something did not work.
