Unless you pay for a static IP you can't.

Hyperoptic use CGNAT which means you don't have your own IP.
It is shared with many other users meaning your IP/connection cannot be reached from the wider internet.

Just a FYI, cross posting (posting the same topic in 2 different sections of the forum) is against the rules
Pick the forum section you think is most relevant rather than posting on both.

thanks for the reply, I wanted to set one up as my ping is actually higher than it was on fftc which i find very strange, pinging bbc.co.uk im seeing 14ms whereas on vodafone i was getting 5ms. i expected to see the same or less with fttp.

14ms seems high for Hyperoptic. Have you asked them to have a look?

My ping to bbc is usually around 2ms.

There's no such thing as "high ping for x provider" unless that provider is very localised. Hyperoptic is available all over the UK.

Ping depends where in the country you are and where your are pinging. It's high for Hyperoptic in London pinging London. It's perfectly normal for Hyperoptic in Northern England and Central Scotland.

BQM supports IPv6 so you can set it up without a static IP (I am on Hyperoptic and have done so).

I've always had a dynamic ip and have had a monitor for years. Only problem is having to create a new one if your ip address changes after a drop. If you have long uptime, it isn't a problem.

Not sure about getting the router to respond. The way I did it was add a firewall rule to accept ICMP where the destination is the IPv6 address of a server on my local network

See this image: https://iain.rauch.co.uk/images/zte_icmp_rule_smithe...

You can verify your IPv6 address by going to this URL (it'll be different for each device on your network): https://ip6.rauch.uk
