I went through the same thing last year, and then I simply left them. It usually occurs at night during peak hours and returns to normal after a few hours. I suspect it's a capacity issue in their network or they're doing something weird with UDP or DDoS.

I’m going to give them a call today, what’s strange is my Tbb ping monitor is showing loads of little red packet loss dots but they’re about a 1% loss. But In csgo it’s severe, my packet loss isn’t even just in the evenings it’s showing loss all the way through and stops for maybe a hour or two at most. When I get bad loss in csgo and I do a “ping bbc.go.uk -n 500” prompt In cmd it shows no loss.
They’re the only full fibre provider I can get, maybe il have to sacrifice the download speed and go back to Vodafone fttc.

Hi,
I just logged into my SamKnows Whitebox to check my own connection and it's reporting my average packet loss @ 0.02% on my Hyperoptic 1G connection so your packet loss issues are not typical on the whole network
Hope this helps . Craig

Hey all, I've also been experiencing terrible packet loss on cs go servers lately with hyperoptic. I've gone crazy trying to fix this issue but the game is basically unplayable...
I'll also call hyperoptic to flag the issue. Please let us know if anyone has success in resolving this.

I have spoken with them and they’re telling me there is nothing wrong on their end. There must be some sort of routing issue between Hyperoptic and the csgo servers because when I play faceit I get no problems at all. Last night in one of my official server games I was getting 30-40% packet loss but my ping monitor showed no issue. 100% an issue between the isp and servers. My latency stayed the same and usually when you get loss you get high ping.

What do you see if you do a traceroute to the server that you're connecting to?

Thanks for your opinion arron. I think that makes sense.
The discussion about hyperoptic packet loss is also getting revived here:
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/official-h...
So it seems like this is a real widespread issue lately.

Valve don't really expose the IPs. All I can see is:
Connected to =[A:1:150415365:22902]:0
hostname: Valve CS:GO Poland Server (srcds2008-waw1.190.292)
version : 1.38.5.5 secure
os : Linux
type : official dedicated
map : de_vertigo
players : 10 humans, 0 bots (10/10 max) (not hibernating)

If you're connected to a server in Poland then it makes sense the game isn't running well
This seems to be an ongoing issue, nothing to do with Hyperoptic:

This tools suggests that there are EU West servers which would be a much better choice

Im getting packet loss on pretty much every server now and im really p*ssed off with the service im getting, i never ever had an issue with vodafone, never any packet loss, ping always stable. ive been playing on france servers and im getting 15ms, which then goes up to 30ms then back down, then back up. then im getting like 20% packet loss.
because i cant ping the official servers i cant tell if it is a server issue. im going to start playing other games at night when i usually play csgo, see what happens. but its mostly peak time where im getting problems. ive even noticed in mw2 multiplayer that im getting big ping spikes now and again.
i think im going to sign up to vodafone fttc given that il have a 14 days cancellation policy, try csgo on their network and if i see no packet loss il be using this as evidence to prove what i believe is a hyperoptic issue.

you still getting the issue? i can play any other game and also play faceit servers no issue, but yet im still getting severe packet loss in csgo and nobody else i know is having this issue, it most certainly is an isp related issue, i certainly wont be renewing my contract with these guys.

Just chiming in here. I recently took out a gigabit contract with Hyperoptic and am having the exact same issue as mentiioned in this thread. CSGO is the only game this happens to me on, nothing else.
One thing to note however is that if I switch from ethernet to WiFi, I get no packet loss playing CSGO what so ever.
So how can it be an issue with Hyperoptic's servers? The answer is that it can't. It has to be with the configuration of the ethernet adapter on the Hyperoptic hub.
I implore everyone to try using WiFi if they can and testing whether this fixes it for them and reporting it back here so we can figure this out together.
