Strange Activation Problem

[link to this post]

I've been a Hyperoptic subscriber since they first installed in Edinburgh some years back. Since then I've moved house and been lucky enough for them to be available. The activation in the new house was a simple 10 minute phone call.

We've moved house again and Hyperoptic - again - have been available in the new-build apartment.

However, this time its not been great. We moved in 17th April.
Made the call to Hyperoptic to activate.
All the lights have gone green on the router, but no internet.
Wifi all available and connecting to our phones etc, but no data at all coming down the fibre.

We called customer support who couldn't ping the router and despite various attempts to solve the problem with me on the phone, no joy.

We got an engineer to attend on 22nd April. Given its a new build apartment block, he went to the Hyperoptic cabinet in the building and tried a different port but with no change. He also couldn't get any data down the fibre. The router is still all green and wifi is broadcasting, just no data. The router seems to be reporting it has a WAN connection but a tiny number of packets broadcast and received.

Here we are on 28th April and still no connection. Hyperoptic have been in touch through social media channels but won;t really explain what has gone wrong other than some technical set up at their end not being configured properly. I have no definitive date to get this sorted although they are optimistic about next week.

Question for this forum is - any clues what this issue is or could possibly be? How could the setup at their end be configured wrongly? Why isn't this just a simple software set up change and why is it taking so long to correct?

Just out of interest more than anything else. Hyperoptic haven't really explained in detail what has gone wrong.
