As I said before, try over on the IDNetters forum- there a people there more knowledgeable than me.

Don't take much notice of movie, although his suggestion about using the test socket has merit. Basically, he's a troll with a grudge against IDNet for some reason best known to himself. If your problem is with the line, changing ISPs will make no difference as he well knows, but he likes to cause trouble.

Again, try the IDNetters forum for better help.

What a ridiculous accusation. My only interest is helping Lastresort to find a solution to his "going offline" problem. If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem

If his BT line is at fault, which we haven't ruled out, how will changing ISPs help?

Why do you defend your ISP by any means - denial of problems, name calling, attempting to divert posters to your own site?

Do you have any connection to IDNet or IDNetters?

I'm not denying there's a problem- I'm trying to locate it. If it's a line fault then changing ISPs won't fix it, if it's an IDNet problem then they will fix it once they know about it

Then why deny the poster a chance to sort out his problems here and try and get him to post on some other site?
There are hundreds of people here with experience of similar problems and also many BT staff and ISP staff to help.
I don't understand your interest in diverting the poster away from here.
