Interesting, I thought that I had read & also seen on TV that the last manned lighthouse at the North Foreland in Kent closed on Thursday, 26th November 1998. If you are still manning a lighthouse does that mean that the much vaunted new technology, did not function too well?
Perhaps one of our very helpful IDNet posters might be able to advise you how to counter recalcitrant foghorns. Against voltage spikes, voltage reductions & loud noises in close proximity.

It shouldn't be a problem. If you look out the window you should see a BIG cable going past your door!!
