I'm really hacked off

[link to this post]

So my migration didn't go according to plan today. I don't know what BT have done, but they managed to cut off my connection to Nildram, but not establish one to IDNet. I am now on dial-up.

Not a happy IDNetter yet then.

Hi Rik

Your migration to IDNet has not been completed yet but that shouldn't affect your Nildram login details.

I don't think that BT will have cut your connection to Nildram but there is a general service outage on the BT Authentication Platform tonight (again, same as last night) which could be preventing you from getting a login to Nildram.

Regards
Simon

Or it could be that BT have not completed the migration yet, but Nildram have assumed that they have and have terminated your access at their end anyway without checking.

This happened when I moved from Pipex some time ago - they stopped my access at around 4am even though the migration wasn't done until late the same afternoon.

My posts are my opinions unless stated otherwise.

The coincidence would be extreme. I was talking to Miriam at the time, she ran some tests as the job was not showing as complete, asked me to try logging in with a new username/password which she created then and there, then asked me to try the BT test domain, after which I had no Nildram connection and, four hours on, it remains that not one of my possible BB IDs will authenticate. I feel something happened in that testing.

Thanks, Simon. As I said above, I was talking to Miriam and she was running tests on the line when it went down. She said that BT hadn't set up the path(?) correctly, but she couldn't do anything until the job was logged complete.

I have sent in an email to support explaining the difficult position this leaves me in. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem when I first joined IDNet in Jan this year. While on the phone to Miriam she discovered that BT had set me up on the wrong domain but all was fixed within an hour. Perhaps BT have more work on their hands than they can cope with at the moment, what with outrages and LLU stuff. That's the next excuse in the pipeline from them I think.

I think you're right. The fact that my migration was completed at 10pm says they are struggling to cope.
