It means you were losing sync with the exchange and your router was reconnecting automatically.

This can occur occasionally, because of a BT fault for example, or maintenance, or an ISP fault. But if it happens regularly, then it could be something like the quality of your telephone line that is causing you problems.

For example, I have had an issue today, but as my line is usually quite stable, I think there has been some sort of outage somewhere. Mine looks like this....

It means that your router is having problems synchronizing with your telephone exchange. Probably due to long line, noisy line, poor wiring and so on.

You should post your line stats here and see what info we can glean from them.

I had the same sort of problem, I reported to CS and they got BT to sort out the problem, it did mean that I lost around 10% of my sync speed though, but my connection rarely drops now.

Nope, that's different. That's an authentication problem as is being reported elsewhere. Notice that there are no losses of synchronization.

The OP's log was full of sync loss events which point to a problem between them and their exchange.

But that wasn't the point anyway - it was an example to the OP showing that it is not necessarily unusual to see these things and this was quantified with the opening statement

Does it point towards a BT fault or do I need to get in touch with IDNet

The number of "loss of sync" points towards a flakey BT line - has this just startes recently or has it always been like this?

Does it cause you any issues? or have you only found out about these logs recently? Have you recently been upgraded to MAX, changed any kit at your end? Many questions but no answers I'm afraid.

I had this problem on the odd occasion with AOL, but it is getting more recent thesedays. I am on the fixed 2meg, never been on max. I turn my router of at night but I am going to leave it on for a few days, look at the log and post the results,
