Dire speeds today

[link to this post]

Been really happy with my connection this past week and it's been very stable around the 6-6.5 mbps range and then today I'm getting this

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=116299044451064825960

I've checked my exchange and it says it is "green", so is this attributed to the BRAS thing again because I thought that it didn't need anymore training as I was getting the same sort of speeds as before until today.

Any idea why today it's deciding it doesn't like me?

To check if it is your profile (MAX is continuously "rate adaptive" not just for the first 10 days), you could do a BT speedtest here. That will tell you your current profile (when it works that is )- if it's way higher than the speeds you're actually seeing, there's a problem somewhere and call CS.

Just done that Yardley, thanks for the response. I see it's been updated quite a bit since I last used it.

IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 3792 kbps

I use the Zen and the Nildram exchange checker aswell as Samknows as a reference to check any other details in the exchange history.

That's the top sync and IP profile, so you should be see nice speeds. The test of 3792 kbps sounds about right allowing for contention.

Nice to see the speedtester working, always seems to be on the fritz or busy when I try!

Maybe a call to CS is in order then because I'm not getting over 60 KB/sec when I'm downloading and it's like being on dial up at the moment.

web browsing has gone very slow here too almost dialup usually between 4-6M, also noticed that the connection dropped about 8+hrs ago for the first time in 22 days.
