frustration

[link to this post]

Hi all, an ex-Bulldoger here having turned to IDNet as i've had to move back to my parents house.

First off, hats off to IDNet for their excellent unthrottled service. However these recent down-time problems have been so frustrating. Although SamKnows says i'm about 2.5 miles from the exchange i'm getting excellent connection speeds, despite disturbingly low noise margin and very high attenuation. the only thing is these [censored] dis-connections, every night around 6 down it goes, usually it's back by the morning but not today. fscking hell. relegated to using my kindly neighbours 256k cable modem wireless.

If you read the maintence tonight thread you'll see that IDNet know there is a problem and are in the process of sorting it.

I have been a customer of IDnet for over a year now (having just been connected in my new place) and believe me when I say your in good hands. They are on the case and will get it sorted just bare with them.

Look on the bright side, any other isp would tell you there's no problem or that the problem is at your end, at least IDNet have ackowleged the issue and are actively sorting it out.

no worries man I do believe you and had read the thread, just had to post my frustrations

was with BD for 2 years during which time it went from flaky initially to constant 8mbit for the best part of that time but clearly they were backed by a huge multinational telco and had more resources. i've heard positive things about IDNet and hope to see restored excellent service very soon (and co-incidentally the back of this 256k cable modem shared connection!).

cheers CG

You've just been a little unlucky having just joined and getting these problems. I was disconnected various times yesterday and everything was extremely slow to the point of being unusable. But hey, hardware does break and has to be replaced once in a while. All is back to normal now.

I have been with IDNet since April and this is the first time a problem has occured. I actually, until this happened, have completely taken IDNet for granted. They are by far the best ISP I've used in the 10 years I've been internet enabled.
