SuperMax Packages - room for one more?

[link to this post]

Note: This is a duplicate of a post over at IDNetters, but slightly edited for accuracy, and a few typos, though I'm not claiming to have caught them orl

Thoughts and questions from a potential customer, in particular, regarding packages from IDNet.

I've been browsing here (nay, lurking!) for about a month now, with the purpose of trying to whittle down a short list in my quest for a new ISP. Actually, I would be bringing three connections with me (mine, my sister's and my parents), so hence the desire to get it right first time! Don't worry, we're not high bandwidth users (or, for that matter, high maintenance), in fact, I would say we have very low bandwidth demands, with service availability and continuity (at any speed) the highest priority, and in a sense, therein lies the source of the dilemma described below.

First off, I'm really encouraged by everything that I've read here and I admit that IDNet are probably at the top of that short list right now, scoring highest in all but one area... available packages.

The other likely candidate at the moment is Entanet, probably UKFSN, as they have a great selection of packages at extremely attractive prices, (such as Office MAX 45 for

In reply to:

What I am looking for is something that offers the prioritization of Home SuperMax without that huge allowance

Which ever way you look at it, you are ruling out Entanet because the have issues within thier own system, so an office product will not satisfy your requirement. Ident are the most stable out of the two at the moment.

/me nods on the allowance front.. for me I'd be happy with 10G allowance per month.

/me nods on not knowing much about how ISPs cost this stuff!

Ah, I see some inconsistency in my OP. By without that huge allowance what I really meant was without paying a premium for a huge allowance that I wouldn't use. So if it's there but I'm not paying a premium for it (as with Entanet) then it really wouldn't matter to me that I'm not using it

That all said, I do get the feeling that, in line with the second part of your reply, IDNet have the edge over Entanet in terms of service reliability and CS...... at the moment

Why not ring or email IDNet? You will find that they are a very responsive company, and while I won't say that they will create a new package for you, they are interested in feedback. I agree with you that there are gaps in their range of packages, and if people express an interest, then it might produce some new offerings.

If you don't ask...

I'd be *very* interested in that package, if it were offered.
