PPP drops this afternoon

[link to this post]

HHas anybody else experienced one or two PPP drops after 1 pm this afternoon? My connection went down about 1.15 pm. (Sync was not affected.) I rebooted and connected for a moment before it dropped again. I phoned IDNet support and waitedand waited.

I fully expected the member of staff who took my call in rather jaded tones to say there was a known issue. During the brief phone call, my connection came back. Ive just checked the IDNetters forum and note that a few others have had PPP issues today:

Anybody else? Is there a known reason?

Thanks for your reply.... and welcome to IDNet! Problems are rare. I moved from Zen a year ago. IDNet really is the Number 1 ISP.

There was a configuration error in a router which allowed one process to hog the CPU, the results of which we saw. Simon has given the router a firm talking to and it won't happen again.

Jolly good show

(I wonder why the support rep didn't appear to know about the issue.)

It was possibly still being tracked down. I only got a confirmation on the issue about 80 minutes afterwards.

Lost PPP at 10:52, came back up at 11:16 (about 5 minutes before I'd decided I'd phone support!), anyone else?
