Very slow since move in from Enta.net????

[link to this post]

I have just migrated in from enta.net because I was not happy with the wildly varying speeds. I used to get anything from 6meg to 2meg depending on the time of the day.

I have been with ID net about a week now and my speeds are very poor.

2 speed tests show the following :

Date 27/07/09 21:11:24
Speed Down 1443.72 Kbps ( 1.4 Mbps )
Speed Up 374.61 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )
Port 8095
Server speedtest1.thinkbroadband.com

Date 27/07/09 21:14:00
Speed Down 1817.04 Kbps ( 1.8 Mbps )
Speed Up 376.99 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )
Port 8095
Server speedtest1.thinkbroadband.com

I am using a Zoom X6 adsl router/modem with the following details :

ADSL Line State: Showtime
Downstream: 7200 Kbps
Upstream: 448 Kbps
Mode: G.Dmt
Transmit Power: 11.9 dB
ADSL Link UP Time: 0 day 0 hour 10 min 16 sec
Operational Mode: G.Dmt

Item Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 11.0 dB 25 dB
Line Attenuation 34.5 dB 22.0 dB

BitSwap : Enabled
BitSwapUp: Enabled
Standard : G.Dmt
EC/FDM Mode : FDM
Activate Line : None

My login ends gw7

PPPoA
VC-Mux
VPI 0
VCI 38

Any advice on what to try to get the speeds back up or what the problem could be?

Ping speeds are not great either.

Email support with a BT speed test. They are aware of an issue causing congestion for a small number of users. If you are in that group, they can solve the problem quickly.

Hi Rik, are you referring to issues on ADSL Max or ADSL2+ connections, in this response?
