BT Speedtester/ IDNet

[link to this post]

Further to my postings on the General Forum, there appear to be three IDNet customers who cannot run the BT speed tester successfully:

Anybody else having problems running the current tester?

I can (usually) get to the point where it tells me my profile, but the download test almost invariably fails after a short burst.

The progress bar continues up to about 96%, but there's nothing coming down... then it bombs with a "No of threads is 16!" error, whatever that means crazy

I have not been able to do one of these tests for months, the answer I get after I put in my phone number is "Performance Tester is unable to run the speed test for your telephone number:01XXXXXXXXX. Please check that it is the correct telephone number for your service"

My exchange is not WBC enabled, I have told IDNet Support about it, but have not pursued the matter as my speeds are OK.

I wonder whether it could have anything to do with having IDNet as my voice provider, seems unlikely but it is very strange as I used to be able to do these tests.

Doubt it, I don't and I get problems!

I'm on WBC, but the test used to run properly (as much as it ever does) for at least some weeks after I switched. Can't be sure when the problem started as I seldom use it.

Hi, I've just done a speed test and it completed sucessfully. I get the "No of threads is 16!" message but it just carries on after that. I'm on IDNet adsl2+ (profile 7150 Kbps, download speed for test 6870 Kbps) not bad for a Friday evening.
Rob.
