BT Speed Test

I've just run a BT speed test for the first time in months. It does not appear to make sense. I have ADSL MAX as issued in April 2006. Can anybody interpret?

It's been doing this a lot lately, ie giving throughput way faster than sync. I wonder if you have been moved to IPStream Connect, it would be worth asking support. What is your d/s sync speed?

There's something odd going on... when I tried to run it using Safari it hung (comprehensively- I had to abend), it worked on Camino but, after asking for my phone number, didn't ask for further authorisation.

Results were OK though.

Downstream sync is steady at 8,128 kbps. Upstream varies 832-896 kbps. My line was transferred to 21CN in April this year before which updream sync was static at 832 kbps.

I was unable to complete a test for about 6 months after the latest reincarnation. I reported it to support and Miriam passed on the info to BT. I've only used this tester successfully twice. The first time I was asked for my phone numbe plus user ID. Today, my phone number was enough. Agreed. Very odd.

I'm not surprised, as Bill says, it's having a cranky period lately.

It's never been the easiest page to get to work, but I've been using it without (too many!) problems for several weeks since I went to FTTC (tbb results have been a bit anomalous).

I think that when they added the bit for FTTC they broke the rest of it

It's proably due to reincarnate again.

You get that feeling, don't you, Bill. Something similar happened when they launched the ADSL2+ version.
