I'm wanting to try and understand all this a bit better than I am able to right now.
First thing I am wondering is this; can anyone who has been at this a very long time ever recall an ISP being cut off by BT in this way before?
If so, and you can post links for further reading then I am sure that could only help.
I personally can't recall an incident, and I've been using broadband for some time now, pretty much since it was first available as a domestic mass market product as far as I can recall. (memory of it is a bit fuzzy by now as it's been a while!)
I strongly suspect no one will be able to cite another instance of this but if they can then it would be good to know about it.
Once we have that information then one could move forward with understanding what remedies there might be if it did happen before, and was subsequently fixed, and then how to get it ruled out for the future, or if it has not happened then it points up that there is going to be little point in BT holding out that it's just one of those things.
For myself, I have no real idea what to reasonably have faith in right now. My thoughts are leaning in roughly the same direction as those posted by Tim at IDNet in that I'd like to see what can be done to rule BT out of the connectivity equation for my life as far as possible.
Cheers
